Join Phoenix Theatre Company
We are over the moon to announce that thanks to grants from The National Lottery Community Fund and Peoples Postcode lottery we are able to continue to run Phoenix Theatre at Lakeside Arts for another year!
Phoenix Theatre is recruiting!
We are seeking female, trans and non-binary young people age 13-19 to join Phoenix Theatre Company in their year’s residency at Lakeside Arts Centre, Nottingham.
Sessions take place on Thursday evenings 6.30-8.30pm and some Saturdays. The group is led by professional theatre-makers Evie Osbon (they/them) and Octavia Nyombi (she/her).
The group will explore skills needed to set up a theatre company, ranging from Directing, Acting, Stage Management, Costume & Set Design, to Poster Making, Branding, Producing and Script Writing. They will work alongside a professional designer to design and make set/props/costume, and rehearsing and performing a fully produced, brand new play at Lakeside Arts Centre!!
The group is free to attend thanks to funding from the National Lottery Awards for All and Peoples Postcode Lottery/Peoples Postcode Trust! Snacks are provided at all sessions, and free local theatre trips.
There are only 15 places available - so to book on, please complete and submit the booking form and share with friends who may be interested. Or email projectshewolves@gmail.com. You must be able to commit to ALL the dates (see below).
Phoenix Theatre Company is an associate young company of Shewolves Productions, and is also supported by Lakeside Arts Centre and Rebel Sparks Theatre Company.

“Phoenix offers acceptance; something that can be difficult to find in other drama groups. As someone who has struggled with my sexuality and body image my whole life; many drama groups have increased this issues and honestly made me feel worse about myself for trying to pursue something I really enjoy. It's never been like that at Phoenix. From the moment I first walked through the doors; I have been completely accepted; not told to change or do something differently or be someone I'm not. It has been a really important place not just for my drama skills but my mental health”
